Designer Prom Dress 2012
Match Red Carpet Dresses to the Occasion A once-in-a-lifetime special occasion calls for just the right attire -- a red carpet dress with glamour, charm and allure. When all eyes are on the parade of designer fashions and creative costumes, tacky distractions need not apply. Wearing the right dress means matching the outfit to the importance of the occasion. When a fashion-savvy crowd gazes upon special occasion dresses, their stares should be admiring and not mocking. Current, flattering styles don't have to be expensive. Creatively enhanced with accessories, makeup and hair, even a less expensive gown can look like a million dollars. The trick is to match the style of the outfit to the occasion. The Nature of the Occasion Is it really a red carpet affair or is it something a bit more subdued? If the event is a wedding, of course, the best choice is not to overshadow the bride. A christening or other religious ceremony is not the place for bright colors and glitz. Most other red carpet occasions are fair game, though. If it is truly a glamorous, glitzy affair with media and paparazzi, only high-fashion style will do. Those kinds of formal events call for graceful evening gowns and cocktail dresses with an extra dollop of chic. The red carpet is the right place for dressing like a princess, but with a grown-up flair. An Afternoon Occasion Shorter length dresses, worn above the calf, are usually more appropriate for afternoon affairs that end before sunset. A simple cocktail dress can be improved with an upswept hairdo and some sparkly bling. A pair of tasteful spiked heels below toned legs are all that is needed to transport this outfit down the daylight red carpet. From Afternoon to Night Events that go from afternoon to evening will usually accommodate any length of dress, depending on the nature of the affair. For example, the most formal dresses, with voluminous skirts and massive trains, can be worn appropriately on the red carpet leading to a star-studded afternoon movie premiere. Formal pantsuits and cocktail-length gowns are also appropriate.Accessorize Style Match makeup and hair to the style of the dress for a stunning impact. Select shoes that enhance the style, and do not detract from the overall look. White or red shoes are almost always a no-no. Stockings and pantyhose should never be seen with a special occasion dress today, and certainly never with open-toed shoes. Glittery accessories, like jewelry, need not be the real thing. In fact, some red carpet dresses are ideal as they are, and need no further enhancements whatsoever. special occasion dresses, red carpet dresses
