Crop tops, high slits, floral prints, blush tones and shimmery metallic! These are a few trends you will see on the prom dance floor. Whichever trend you decide to rock, Mac Duggal will have you covered!

Two-Piece: Two-piece or crop top dresses were a huge hit for prom last year and are sizzling hot again this year. Tops of the two-piece dresses can range from halter, cap sleeve to long sleeve. Deciding which top works best for you depends on your body type and the fit of the skirt. If you are top heavy choose a cap sleeve or long sleeve top so you can comfortably wear a bra. If you are on the shorter side, choose a fitted skirt with a  mermaid style to create a longer silhouette. For more on crop top dresses see: Two Piece Prom Dresses

High-slits: High slit dresses are a classic prom trend.  The slit allows you to show off those fabulous shoes that often take a back seat to your dress and accessories. A high slit in the skirt can also make you appear either taller or shorter depending on the fit. Make sure to try on the dress before having it altered. Ensure that alterations do not reduce the slit or the shape of the design that the you fell in love with.

Floral Prints: Floral prints were ALL OVER the runway at Spring 2016 fashion week. Nothing says spring like a floral print. If too much floral intimidates you, choose a two-piece with a floral top or floral skirt to create a color-blocking affect. If you adore the floral print choose a dress that is floral from seam to seam! Break up the print with some bold accessories.

Blush Tones: Blush tones are subtle and feminine, but that does not keep them from being striking. Blush tones work for almost any body shape and skin tone. You can accentuate  the pink hues and blush tones by choosing a ball gown with big tulle skirt or a satin mermaid skirt. Either style will make you feel like a princess

Shimmery Metallic: Many girls add glitz and glamour with sparkly accessories. However, this season’s trend is to create a total glitz and glamour look. This look is for the fearless and confident! Not only will all eyes be on you when you make your entrance, the dress will photograph perfectly under a wide variety of lighting conditions. The most dramatic effect will appear when you are spinning and moving on the dance floor. For more on why to choose a metallic dress see: Top Ten Reasons to Choose a Sparkly Prom Dress
